The Softball team played in their season opener on Wednesday night on the road in a non conference game at Michigan City. The Lady Eagles won big as they defeated the Wolves 14-1 Adams started the game out with a bang. Julia McNellis tripled in the first at bat of the game and Audreyanna Gizzi did the same later in the inning to drive in 2 runs. Adams collected a total of 19 hits in the game. Two big innings in the second and third helped secure the victory, with 5 runs scored in each. Gizzi led the team at the plate going 3-3, scoring 2 runs and 3 RBI’s. Mackenzie Miller was the winning pitcher. Miller went 2 innings and gave up only 1 hit and no runs and struck out 4 batters.
