Softball Defeats Michigan City at IHSAA Sectional

The Softball team had a great night to play on Wednesday night as the Lady Eagles began play in the IHSAA Sectional Tournament at Penn HS. Adams defeated Michigan City 13-2 The bats were hot for the Eagles as they collected 14 hits. Mackenzie Miller had a great night as well. Miller got the win in the pitchers circle with 12 strike outs and went 2 for 3 at the plate and had 2 stolen bases. Adams took the early lead in the first. Abby Kadar singled to drive in the first run of the game. Brooklyn Young and Miller would drive two runs in to start off the second inning. Miller would go on to steal two bases then score a run on an error from the Wolves. In the third inning, singles from Gabby Vandewielle and Kaylee O’Brien added 2 more runs. Alivia Redman doubled to bat in a run in the fourth, Vandeweille hit a flyball and an error from Michigan City on the play added another run, and finally Young was walked to bring in another. The fifth was just as exciting. Miller doubled and Kadar singled to bring in runs. BRayah Williams Winston hit a fly out to allow Kadar to score. To wrap things up, Redman hit a solo home run to score the final run for Adams in the game. A full box score can be found below.
