Baseball Victorious in IHSAA Sectional Opener

The Baseball team opened up play in the IHSAA Sectional Tournament on Wednesday night at Baker Park in Mishawaka. The Eagles faced long time rival SB Riley. Adams defeated the Wildcats with a final score of 7-3 Kainen Smith helped lead the Eagles to victory. Smooth finished the day going 3-4 at the plate and three runs batted in. Adams took the lead early, with 2 runs in the first off of hits from Weston Hoke and Smith. The Eagles added to that lead in the third inning with Smith and Noah Mulvehill driving in 1 run each. Joe Fox started off the fourth inning with a solo home run and Ben Peichocki would drive in another run later in the inning. Finally in the sixth, Smith grounded out to allow Kane Goddard to score. Hoke was the winning pitcher in the game. Hoke allowed only 3 hits and struck out 7 batters. A full box score can be found below.
