John Adams Athletics is proud to recognize its outstanding Student Athletes for the month of September. During these first few weeks of school these individuals have excelled in the classroom as well as the fields, courts, and courses they compete on. Congrats to our September Student Athletes of the Month! FOOTBALL Kane Goddard A two sport athlete, playing both Football and Baseball, Kane is a jack of all trades for the football team, playing every skill position on offense. Kane also is a strong student in the classroom, maintaining a 3.6 GPA and has the respect of many teachers. BOYS CROSS COUNTRY Max Howk Ranked near the top of his class, Max excels in the classroom and on the cross country course. Max has been one of the leaders for the team this season, with several great performances throughout the month, highlighted by a Top 40 finish at the always competitive New Prairie Invitational. GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY Clara Turner Clara has steadily improved as the season has rolled along. Clara excels in the classroom and has worked her way to be one of the varsity runners. Clara had a breakthrough performance at the prestigious New Prairie Invitational earlier this month. BOYS TENNIS Owen McNally Owen has stepped it up for this team the last two seasons. This season he has shown a willingness to play singles to help the team after over 2 years playing doubles with his partner. Owen has fought hard every week this fall at the toughest spot of number 1 Singles. GIRLS GOLF Sophia Maddox Sophia has had a great season on the course this fall. Playing in the number 1 position all season, Sophia has helped lead the team as one of the three seniors on the team. Sophia earned a spot to play in the IHSAA Regional after her strong play at the Sectional GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Maggie Filchak Maggie is a 4 year member of the Girls Volleyball team. Outside of athletics, Maggie is quite involved in a number of extracurriculars including Vice President of Business Professionals of America, Secretary of Spanish Honor Society and Spanish Club, an active member National Honor Society, Business Club, and Model UN, and on track to earn an IB Diploma. BOYS SOCCER Diego Cruz Diego has had a stellar career as a member of the Boys Soccer team. This year as a senior he has helped lead the Eagles to a great season heading into the tournament. Diego always gives his all in practice and as a fierce competitor in games. GIRLS SOCCER Paityn Armstrong Paityn has been a constant starter in the Eagles midfield, which is on pace for a historic season. She does all the little things that keep the team moving in both the attack and defense and is a key leader in the Eagles' success this year. GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL Nohealani Wisner Nohealani has played a big part in the growing Girls Flag Football team. As quarterback she has helped the team improve each game, especially in its first season as a recognized sport in the Northern Indiana Conference UNIFIED FLAG FOOTBALL Alex Flannigan Allex is a 3 year varsity starter on the Unified Flag Football team and makes significant contributions both on offense and defense. Alex has been dedicated to the program in its first years and is a leader on the team! CHEER Izzy Davis Izzy is a senior who attends Adams but spends most of her time at Ivy Tech earning dual credits for high school and college.. She balances school, work, cheer and competitive cheer. She keeps it real and is an important piece of the Cheer team.
