Football Defeats Crosstown Rival SB Riley

The Football team was on the road on Friday night to take on crosstown rival SB Riley. The Eagles and the Wildcats met in the longest played rivalry for the Football team in a classic battle on the gridiron. The Eagles were victorious, defeating the Wildcats 10-8 Riley got on the scoreboard first, scoring in the second quarter, taking the 8-0 lead. Adams answered later before half, cutting that lead with a 39 yard field goal from Eric Garcialazo. Much of the game was a defensive battle, with the Eagles defense having many key stops and tackles to stop the momentum that Riley built up at times in the game. The offense came alive with a nice drive down field in the fourth quarter. Adams sealed the game with a 9 yard touchdown run from Cayden Keen. Keen threw for 21 yards and rushed for 10 yards. Carson Ball rushed for 116 yards and Kane Goddard rushed for 20 yards. Jeffery Seitz had 1 reception for 21 yards. The defense was led by Franklin Passwater with 8 tackles and Leightton Prezbindowski with 4. Garcialazo had 1 field goal and 3 kickoffs for a total of 167 Adams moves to 3-3 in the Northern Indiana Conference and 4-4 overall for the season.
