Saturday afternoon was full of action for the Boys Soccer team as they played in the IHSAA Regional Championship Game. The Eagles took on Lake Central at Penn HS. After a delay to start the game to lighting, the action on the field was just as electric in the exciting game. In the end, Adams prevailed, winning in penalty kicks, defeating the Indians 2-1. Asim Elhad got Adams off to a strong start, scoring the first goal in the game in the 8th minute. Adams held on to that lead for much of the game before Lake Central scored with 13 minutes remaining in regulation. Adams and Lake Central battled it out but regulation ended in a 1-1 tie. After two overtime periods, the game was still a draw, sending the game into penalty kicks to determine the ultimate winner. Adams outshined Lake Central 4-2. Yonatan Omer Spring, Antonio Juarez, and Elhag made their shots, giving Adams a 3-2 advantage at that point. The Eagles secured the win with a shot from Goalkeeper Eric Garcilazo who had multiple great saves throughout the entire game in the Eagles net. With the win, Adams will advance to the IHSAA Semi State Championship next weekend against Harrison at Chesterton HS. —------------------------------------------------------- IHSAA Regional Championship Game @ Penn HS John Adams vs Lake Central 1 2 OT1 OT2 PK F JA 1 0 0 0 4 2 LC 0 1 0 0 2 1 A 8’ Asim Elhag LC 67’ PK LC JA X Yonatan Omer Spring O X Antonio Juarez O O Elhag O O Eric Garcilazo O
